My name is John Paul Taylor.  Some of my friends call me JP.  I’m the creator and producer of the children's educational music series Singin' Songs of Science that’s been used in classrooms all over the world.  In my twenty year teaching career I’ve taught in England and Switzerland as well as the US.

For a long time I’ve been an advocate for the environment and protection of the natural world and I have created several collections of songs and music videos about conservation and endangered species.

Given the state of the natural world, with so many species on the brink of extinction, it just makes sense to me to reach out to kids through books.  We adults just aren't getting things done – for lots of reasons.  And I, for one, am putting my hopes for the natural world in the hands of the children.  After all, they're the ones who will be dealing with whatever is ahead for us here on planet Earth.

Children are born with a natural curiosity for and love of animals and the natural world.  Through my books I hope to encourage and nurture those feelings.

All of my books use large, high quality color photographs.  And most importantly, they are all designed especially for younger kids, written at a level they can understand.

Children love animals, and I'm a firm believer that more age-appropriate nonfiction books can encourage and reinforce their desire to learn more about, and protect our natural world.
